I took off at 7 am with the Donut Ride group and no specific plan other then to ride long. The group ride was pretty fast and fun but I was hoping to head for the hills which meant branching off at Birch Bay State Park. My primary target was Mosquito Lake Road which had opened the day before after a long closure. This perfect cycling road offered a spectacular route of twisted roads and rolling terrain with hardly a motor vehicle along the way. From the Straight of Georgia to the foothills of Mt Baker, the end result was a huge 110 mile loop. It was my longest day in the saddle to date at a total of 6 hours.Ride Map
