Border Clash - Cross Race #2
I jumped into my second cross race of the season
today feeling a bit apprehensive after a miserable showing at Thriller Cross a couple weeks ago. Today's course however was fast a fluid which extended a rhythm and confidence I completely lacked in the first race. The venue, racers and spectators were awesome for this make-shift local race in Ferndale and I've got to give huge credit to Ryan Rickerts for putting on another sweet event. I was pleased with a 4th (maybe 5th?) place finish although a bit bummed I didn't catch the 15 year old twig that was 10 yards in front of me from lap 4 - 7. It's just good to get out and dirty in some nasty weather and have the sort of race that keeps you coming back for more rather then wanting to hang up your bike. Next week is a spectacular double header of Sedro Woolley and Woodland Park.
